H.E. Mr. Mohamed bin Abullah Al Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and Environment, met with H.E. Ms Edita Đapo, Minister of Environment and Tourism

In the margins of 17th Doha Forum, H.E. Mr. Mohamed bin Abullah Al Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and Environment, met with H.E. Ms Edita Đapo, Minister of Environment and Tourism, in presence of H.E. Mr. Rashid bin Mubarak Al Kawari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and H.E. Tarik Sadiković, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the State of Qatar. The topic of the meeting was bilateral cooperation between the two countries and its future prospects.

H.E. minister Al Rumaihi said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in hearts of Qatari people who have special feelings for Bosnia and Herzegovina which should be used in direction of strengthening relations in all fields, especially economic.

H.E. Minister Al Rumaihi also mentioned interest of the State of Qatar for import of meat, fruits and vegetables from Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering that conditions for import of these products are more favourable than the conditions of importing them from the countries of South America due to the shorter journey, reiterating the necessity of establishing direct airline between Doha and Sarajevo.

   H.E. Minister Al Rumaihi added that there are opportunities for Bosnia and Herzegovina companies to work in Qatar which is in the process of preparations to host a World Cup 2022 in football when it is necessary to expand the network of roads and infrastructures and Qatar will enable the companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in international tenders for development projects.

H.E. minister Đapo pointed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an attractive country for the people of the Gulf countries, especially since many of their traditional summer destinations countries have become unsafe, thus Bosnia and Herzegovina should take advantage of this opportunity and provide good tourist services that will attract the Gulf tourists, due to its cultural and historical wealth and halal food, which is exactly what Gulf tourists are looking for. Bosnia and Herzegovina also have grounds for extreme sports, relaxation and recreation in the green fields and banks of rivers.

H.E. minister Đapo added that the State of Qatar is the leading country in its region in nature and environmental conservation, therefore both sides agreed on cooperation between institutions dealing with ecology and opportunities for joint projects. The State of Qatar expressed the readiness to finance certain projects, and the development of cooperation between experts in this area. Minister Đapo invited minister Al Rumaihi to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina and H.E. minister Al Rumaihi accepted it.

 

In the margins of 17 Doha Forum, H.E. minister Edita Đapo also met with Mr. Hasan Alzawadi, coordinator for the organization of the World Cup 2022 in football, and they agreed the coordination of future cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar on this great event.
